Direction to Use

Tooth Preparation:

  • Ensure that the tooth to be treated and adjacent teeth are clean.

Shade Selection:

  • Use a Shade Guide to select the appropriate shade for the restoration.

Cavity Preparation:

  • Prepare the cavity to remove any decay or existing restorative material, ensuring it's clean and free of contaminants.

Etching:

  • Apply a suitable etchant (e.g., phosphoric acid) to the prepared tooth surface. Follow the recommended etching time, usually 15-20 seconds.

Rinsing:

  • Rinse the etchant off with a vigorous water spray and then thoroughly rinse the conditioned area with water for at least 10 seconds.

Drying:

  • Blot-dry the conditioned area with a moist cotton pellet to remove excess moisture.

Application of Bonding Agent:

  • Apply a dentine bonding agent (e.g., Tetric N-Bond) to the entire cavity. Ensure thorough wetting of the cavity.

Air Drying:

  • Allow the bonding agent to air dry for the recommended time. Some bonding agents may require more than one coat.

Curing:

  • Cure the bonding agent with a curing light for the recommended time.

Application of Tetric N-Ceram:

  • Dispense Tetric N-Ceram into the prepared cavity and shape it as needed. It may be necessary to build in increments if restoring a larger area.

Light Curing:

Cure the Tetric N-Ceram material with a curing light, typically involving using the curing light for a specified amount of time.

Finishing:

  • Shape and polish the restoration using standard techniques.

Application of Protective Varnish:

  • In some cases, a protective varnish (e.g., Nano Coat) may be applied to enhance the final appearance and protect the restoration.
