Waldent Blue Bite-Block

Rs 497.00  Rs 775.00

Waldent Blue Bite-Block is a visible light cured, radiopaque highly filled composite restorative material for raising the bite in anterior and posterior restorations of all teeth. It is a highly crosslinked polymeric material composed of a mixture of two or more macromolecules that are essentially insoluble.

Temporary bite-raising or bite-opening is often needed in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment, such as in deep overbite and/or crossbite cases. Bite-raising is used to prevent the brackets from being sheared off, and to eliminate occlusal interferences, allowing unobstructed tooth movement.

The bite blocks are used when bracket interference makes it difficult to bond the mandibular anterior and posterior teeth's at the start of the treatment. Earlier bite planes were used in class II division I and division II cases for the correction of deep bite with moderate overjet.

Driection to Use

  • The patient is clinically evaluated with an extent of deep bite and the amount of bite to be raised.
  • This can be done arbitrarily by bonding a bead of Waldent Blue-Bite Block composite material on the occlusal surface of the lower first molar.
  • A UV light is applied till an initial set of the composite is assured.
  • It can be fine-tuned by grinding of the composite till a satisfactory vertical relation is established.
  • Clinically, articulating paper is used to ensure wheather the composite applied has uniform contacts of the lower posterior on all the platforms. Once this is done the patient is ready for the regular orthodontic strap up.
